So if you haven't already heard about the toxic free kid friendly cleaners sweeping the nation that go by the name of Norwex lemme give ya a quick run down. Norwex is a company that has designed microfiber clothes, cleaners, towels, etc. with the unique, innovative and patented design of collidial silver fibers woven into their fabrics. Why is this so special you ask? Collidial silver is known for its natural antibacterial antiseptic properties, used to disinfect and sanitize so by weaving these fibers into the cloth itself you have a handy dandy incredibly sanitary multipurpose cloth ready to clean up just about any mess from raw meats (yes, raw meat) to baby toys to bathroom sinks. It's a pretty simple process really you just rinse, wring and your ready to keep on cleaning. To good to be true right? Well.. Kind of, let me explain. While the cleaning itself is pretty easy to get used to the cloths are just a LITTLE too high maintenance for me in terms of cleaning THEM.. You have to wash them with "special" laundry detergent, are not supposed to wash them in a "high lint load" such as other towels and when not washed FREQUENTLY they start to quite frankly.. STINK.. Like mildew mixed with.. Sewage, or something to that effect. Now I read, read and read again the instructions on how to use and clean them, and followed all instructions on how to care for them and still could not get ALL of the rancid smell out. After my Norwex towel tragically got mixed up and washed with a load of run of the mill towels.. It just hasn't been the same. After all of this? I love the Norwex company and products, and they aren't TOOOO terribly priced.. Around $16 a pop, but as with any healthy investment it takes a little money and getting used to. I would liken it to cleaning out your pantry to get rid of all the junk food in there to replace them all with Maca, Cacao nibs, nuts and dried fruit.. So much better for us, but it's gonna cost ya. But yes, you and your kids health IS worth it. CONCLUSION: I would buy the whole Norwex cleaning system if I had a chunk of money to spend in one fatal swoop,(tax return??) will I still go and buy another as a replacement for my cloth? Probably. If your looking for a convenient way to clean you could take it or leave it, depending on what your idea of convenient is.
